WHAT IS THE ACTIVE-TENSION CHAIN GUARD?
The Active Chain Guard is different in function than a standard chain guard. While a standard chain guard only guides the chain to the rear sprocket, the Active-Tension Chain Guard adds a mechanical advantage by applying a small amount of tension to the chain via a spring and polyethylene slide block to evenly distribute the tension across the full length of the chain. This lets the chain guard react to the different stresses applied during riding.
This has a number of benefits including:
- Lowering the chances of chain derailment
- Reducing chain slap
- Reducing chain oscillation on-ground and in-air in an adaptive way
- Providing a better mechanical connection between the throttle and the rear wheel (SEE THE VIDEO)
- Reducing the amount of times needed for chain adjustment

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
- The Active-Tension Chain Guard keeps rocks and other debris like wire, branches, wood chips, and even clumps of mud from entering in at the front of chain guard. This can prevent rocks or other debris from damaging sprocket teeth or other components close to the chain guard. This also helps keep the chain from being derailed from the rear sprocket, preventing catastrophic engine case, wheel, and hub damage.
- The life of your chain can also be extended because the chain will not be flopping around as much.
- When using a new chain on your motorcycle, the Active-Tension Chain Guard will adjust with your chain as it naturally stretches over time, allowing you to not have to adjust your chain as much as it wears.

ACTIVE-TENSION CHAIN GUARD
The CONETIC MOTO CO. Active-Tension Chain Guard is designed to replace the existing OEM Chain Guide on your motorcycle.
The goal is to eliminate many of the negative aspects of a chain-drive on a motorcycle such as chain slap, chain derailment, and other chain related issues.

As time goes on, we will continue to fill out our product offering to fit additional OEMs. Manufacturers are constantly changing their swingarm designs from generation to generation which makes it difficult for a small business like us to keep up, but we will do our best to develop the Active-Tension Chain Guard for as many models as we can.
